How much does a website cost for a business?

What does a business website cost?

How much does a website cost for a business? In our price list, from $655 for a 3–5 page business-card site to $2,600 for the Premium package. Cost depends on page count, whether copy and a prototype (a rough layout of each page) are included, and what you pay each month after launch.

What decides the price of a website?

Five things move the price: pages, design, content, integrations, and support after launch.

  • Pages. A business-card site has 1–3 pages and starts at $655. A landing page (one page built around one offer) starts at $1,100. A corporate site starts at $2,600 and begins with a ready site concept.
  • Design. The $655 package uses a design template adapted to your brand. From the Standard package ($1,300) a simplified prototype comes first (a rough layout of each page before the design), then the design.
  • Content. Copywriting is part of the Premium package ($2,600) and every corporate package. Every landing package starts with an offer structure built on the buyer persona of your target audience, and the Business landing package ($1,500) adds the copy.
  • Integrations. The Standard, Gold, Premium and landing packages include lead tracking, which is a report showing where each request came from. The Business landing package also sends requests into a CRM (a customer database) and adds a quiz or calculator.
  • Support. After launch, hosting and backups cost $20 for a month with no requests. Edits cost more, and the next section gives the figures.

Concept Start is the planning stage: brief, audience, positioning, structure, and a report of decisions. The Gold and Premium packages include it. For the corporate packages, read about our website development company services.

Keeping a site online costs $20 a month when there are no requests. A month with edits and incident fixes starts at $190. The domain name and hosting are a small yearly fee that you pay directly to the provider; they are not in the package price.

Why is a cheap website cheap, and how do you read a quote?

The gap between $655 and $2,600 is mostly scope. The cheapest package uses a design template. Among the small-site packages, a prototype first appears at $1,300, Concept Start at $1,800, and copywriting, custom design and initial SEO at $2,600. Logo and brand identity are priced separately: a logo is $470.

Before you accept a quote from any studio, ask for these answers in writing:

  • Which pages and features are built, and how many?
  • Who writes the copy, and is it in the price?
  • Is lead tracking included, so you see the source of each request?
  • Are logo and brand identity included, or priced separately?
  • In whose name are the domain and server registered?
  • What are the payment terms, and what does the price cover?

If another quote is much lower, put the two scope lists side by side and compare line by line.
